On paper, on a hard pull on dry ground, fully ballasted, in theory the bigger tractor will pull more. The power means nothing if it's not able to put it to the ground. They eventually bought a new 4wd 5240 which was clearly a lot less tractor, the difference was night and day, miles better with 4wd. I did use that tractor on a chisel plow and it just dug holes. When I worked in the US they had an early 2wd 7110 that was "lively". I'd expect the 4wd to walk all over the 2wd. I have never drove a MFWD tractor before. Which tractor will have more power ? Im going down from a 49 to a 47 does that matter? The main job will be pulling a Sunflower 22 ft 6333 Field finisher. Will i gain anything by Going to A John Deere 4755 MFWD. Plenty of power but will slip some in certain conditions.
